Monisa or Mo was born in Korea and raised just outside of Rochester, NY. Eventually she made her way to Washington, DC after stops in Providence, Rhode Island and Denver, Colorado.
In DC, Mo has built on her experience attending a top ranked culinary school and working with chefs to provide excellence to everyone who visits the restaurants, bars and parties that she manages and organizes. She spent over a decade in the kitchen which has fueled her commitment to excellence. “I like everything perfect and I can be a slight control freak,” she says. “But that’s what’s great about me –my contribution to RegMo Promo is having a brain for logistics.”
Mo created the menu and cooked daily for two bars—Queen Makeda and 1920 DC and has also been bartending for the past 5 years. Since RegMo Promo’s founding in 2010 she has served as the administrative lead. No matter her role Mo always makes sure that everyone is having a good time. She’s great at talking to people finding out what they need and making sure they get it. Whether in the front of the house or the back she has spent the last 20 years making sure that people are happy. “I just want people to have fun.”
